We at Metzer Wines believe that wine belongs on the dinner table, where it plays an important role in promoting good eating, celebrating local cuisine and lubricating interaction in all social contexts.

Our mission is to produce a predominantly syrah based wine that is balanced and elegant - the very opposite of a "brand". - employing artisanal, non-interventionist principles in its vinification.

Produced with physical strength and intellect - body and soul - Metzer Wines are an extension of the winemaker’s personality.

Our grapes are ethically cultivated, respecting both the environment and human resources. In the cellar, a great emphasis is placed on the minimum handling of fruit, and no mechanical interventions with pumps, filters, centrifuges and such are used in the process.

Fermentation by indigenous yeasts, alive on the grapes and resident in the cellar, lead to long, stable extraction times.

Wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the "life-forces" from vineyard to bottle
